IN RETAIL

Google’s Virtual Fitting Room

Google is leveling up the shopping experience with an impressive virtual try-on tool that harnesses the power of generative AI. You can now select a model that mirrors your unique features and get a glimpse of how clothes might look on you. With big-name brands like H&M, Everlane, and Anthropologie jumping on board, buyer’s remorse may soon become a thing of the past.

IN MUSIC

Meta’s New Beat

Meta has hit the music scene with its very own AI-powered music generator, aptly named MusicGen. It’s open-source, granting access to any and everyone. Simply provide a text description like “jazzy elevator music,” and MusicGen will serve up ~12 seconds of audio. Trained on 20,000 hours of music, including licensed and instrumental tracks, these AI-generated tunes are undeniably melodic. Try it out right here.

IN WEB3

Duck, Duck, Goose

This week, the “Goose" Ringer by Dmitri Cherniak fetched $6.2 million at Sotheby's auction, becoming the second-highest-selling generative art piece ever. Defying expectations that hovered around $2-3 million, this piece, part of a 1000-piece collection, emerged from the aftermath of 3AC’s bankruptcy. The sale is a clear sign of generative art’s validation, hinting at the evolution of algorithms in the digital art space.
