IN BUSINESS

AI in the Workplace: Harnessing the Power, Handling the Fear

Checkr’s 2023 survey on AI in the workplace reveals intriguing insights from 3,000 American workers, with a special focus spanning generations. A significant 85% of respondents have dabbled with AI tools on the job, with Millennials leading the group. However, more than two-thirds are hesitant about disclosing their AI usage to their managers, fearing job replacement.

The pressure to learn more about AI tools is palpable, with a staggering 79% of workers feeling the strain, and Millennials feeling the most pressure to upskill in AI. Interestingly, 57% of all generations would accept a pay cut for an AI-enabled four-day workweek.

Despite the potential benefits, a considerable majority express concerns or uncertainty about job loss due to AI adoption. As we move forward, it’s clear that the future of work is being shaped by AI, bringing both opportunities and challenges.

IN AR

Meta & Apple: Pushing Virtual Boundaries

Meta’s CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, just unveiled the Quest 3 VR headset, beating Cupertino to the punch. It promises to be significantly more powerful than its predecessor, with 40% slimmer design, high-res visuals, and a color video pass-through for a more immersive experience.

Apple is hot on Meta’s heels with its rumored Reality Pro, boasting iPad app compatibility, dual 4K displays, and 15 cameras for eye motion tracking and biometrics.

When it comes to price, the two headsets are likely to target different segments of the market. The Meta Quest 3, priced at $499, is positioned as a consumer-friendly headset. In contrast, Apple’s could come at a hefty price tag of $3,000, potentially dominating the upscale VR market.

As 2023 unfolds, both Meta and Apple are set to make significant strides in the VR and AR space, promising an exciting year for tech enthusiasts.
