IN ENGINEERING

The Robot Renaissance

Sanctuary AI just unveiled their latest humanoid robot that stands at 5'7 and lifts a cool 55 lbs. Designed with human-like precision and strength, these ‘synthetic humans’ have the potential to carry out complex tasks that require both physical strength and delicate finesse. Oh, and they chat pretty well too.

Meanwhile, Tesla teased us with a sneak peek of their humanoid robot (click tweet below👇️) that could take all the mundanity and hazards out of daily tasks (goodbye changing a flat tire in the rain).

But that’s not all. Amazon’s roving Astro robot is getting a major upgrade and Princeton’s TidyBot is ready to be your personal Marie Kondo, sorting laundry and recycling like a champ. And let’s not forget our friends in Japan, who are engineering state-of-the-art AI controlled, robotic prosthetics.

These bots are set to revolutionize our daily lives and it’s an exhilarating first peek into a potential future with robots.

IN TECH

ChatGPT vs Bing vs Bard: The Ultimate AI Showdown

We’re placing ChatGPT, Bing, and Bard under the AI spotlight, comparing which AI is the most useful.

ChatGPT: The brainchild of OpenAI and a crowd favorite, takes the lead with its ability to churn out creative content, compose emails, and craft essays. It’s clever and versatile, but can sometimes ‘hallucinate.’ Even so, it has amassed an astonishing 100 million users within the initial two months of its release on November 30th last year. OpenAI launched its free iOS app this past week, which has quickly risen to become the most popular app in the Apple app store.

Bing: Microsoft’s contender is the responsible one of the bunch. It’s known for its reliability and adherence to rules. While it may not be the life of the party, it can be your ideal choice if you prefer playing it safe.

Bard: Google’s AI is more into Game of Thrones than The New York Times, if you catch our drift. When it comes to practical advice, it may not be the most dependable option. Want a kid’s bedtime story? It’s your go-to. Need to file your taxes? Look elsewhere.

Ultimately, the AI winner depends on your specific needs and preferences.
