Apple GPT
Apple is stepping up its AI game with the development of a chatbot similar to OpenAIās ChatGPT and Googleās Bard. Dubbed āApple GPT,ā the large language model (LLM) is being built on Appleās own framework, āAjax.ā Itās currently being used internally for product prototyping, but thereās no official plan for a consumer release yet. This move aligns with Appleās recent push to hire more generative AI experts and meet the growing demand for AI tools. With Siri currently outmoded, it could be the prime candidate for Apple to integrate its LLM into.
The Llama in the Room
While the digital world buzzes about Threads and its fluctuating user base, Meta and Microsoft have released Llama 2. Itās a next-gen, open-source LLM thatās free for research and commercial use. Llama 2 aims to democratize access to foundational models, enabling businesses, startups, entrepreneurs, and researchers to innovate in the generative AI space. In addition to being listed in the Azure AI model catalog and optimized to run locally on Windows, the companies are also emphasizing responsible use and safety in AI development.
